I thought the first NTR roping would be kind of light on teams for many reason.  First of all, April 13^th is late in the season most snowbirds have left Arizona for the winter.  Secondly there was a World Series roping just up the road in Laughlin, Nevada.  

With about 700 teams for the day I was wrong.  I’m glad we ran two arenas.  There were 140 teams in the National Nine, looking to qualify to rope for the $100,000 (7 teams advanced)! 

 With the excitement about the National Nine, I have changed the schedule up a little for the Morman Lake Lodge roping, to better manage the team counts.  I left the National Nine on Saturday, but moved the Truck Roping to Sunday, and the #7 & #8 ropings will be on Monday.
