National All Amateurs

Two years ago, I started the No Wolves Allowed Tour in Arizona because most of the ropings at that time were focused on higher-numbered ropers with higher and higher entry fees. I wanted to create a program for the amateur roper that has low entry fees and big payoffs. Basically, I wanted the amateur team roper to be able to come play and have a chance at those big payoffs and awards and, bottom line, compete against a fair field.

The amateur ropers found it to be exactly what they were looking for, and came out in droves. Throughout last year's season of No Wolves Allowed ropings, we awarded more than 160 saddles and hundreds of thousands of dollars, and each Finals drew more than 1,500 teams!

This summer I expanded the format and renamed it the National All Amateurs. The changes included adding #10 and #9 ropings so that #5 ropers can get in on big payoffs, while still featuring the same No Wolves Allowed #8 Ropings we have had in the past. In addition, we added season champions in each division and expanded the "Match of Champions" held during the Finals.

After a successful Northern season in which we averaged over 1,000 teams each weekend and drew 2,000 teams to our National All Amateurs Northern Regional Finals, we think we're on the right track. We'll add most all the ropings we've held in Arizona in the past to the National All Amateurs Tour, including the No Wolves Allowed Tour, the Wickenburg All Amateurs, the A to Z All Amateurs, the Arizona Bowl, and others.

We will keep track of season standings in each division; you will receive points by placing in the average of the roping and also by entering. We will be awarding a Top 10 in each division (#5, #4, #3 and under) header and heeler, and your points will also qualify you for "The Match of Champions" held during the National All Amateurs Finals to be held February 25-27, 2011.

The next tour stop in Arizona is the Fall Classic on Oct 30 & 31st at Dunn's Arena in Litchfield Park, Arizona, where we're having a #6 Roping for #3 and under ropers only and a No Wolves Allowed #8 Roping that will be awarding six trophy saddles in the average.
